This trail around the Aparan Reservoir is a great choice if you want a short and beautiful hike.

Having climbed to the shore of the reservoir, you will find yourself near the village of Starye Zovuni, abandoned in 1965. From here the road continues through a pine forest, which will lead you back to the reservoir. In the second part of the route, fantastic views await you: the peaks of Mount Aragats and the reservoir visible in the distance. This easy 3.5 km hike through the Aragatsotn region is a great option any time of year. In winter, you can use snowmobiles for a short, “cold” but fun hike.

The hike can be started from the village of Jrambar near Yerevan or from the village of Yegipatrush. To start the route from Jarmbar village, you will have to drive through the dam without stopping. However, there are controls there and sometimes they may not allow you to cross the dam (even on foot). That's why we also have a 2nd version.
