This trail, located in the Arpa landscape area, will take you to the highest points where you will find the Gnishik River gorge and amazing views of the 13th century Noravank Monastery. The protected landscape of Arpa is centered around the Gnishik Gorge, where 885 plant species, 39 mammal species and 190 bird species have been recorded. This trail gets its name from the extremely beautiful partridge bird ("Karakakaw") that you are likely to encounter during this hike. We will start this journey from Amaghu. At the top of the gorge there are two viewing platforms from where you can admire Noravank, one of the most beautiful and unique monasteries in Armenia, and if you are lucky, you can also see bezoar goats. This trail is also notable for its abundance of colors. In the central part of the trail we will leave the trail a little and climb the Achalikar peak, whose height is 2118m.
