Mount Ara is located on the border of Kotayk and Aragatsotn regions, between the Hrazdan and Kasakh rivers. Height is 2577 m. When you look at the mountain from afar, you get the impression that an eagle lies in front of you. Tsakhkevank is located on the slopes of a mountain, which is why the mountain is also called Tsakhkevankasar. In the mossy monastery has a spring that is said to have healing properties, especially for eyesight. Locals call it "Holy Water".
